Yes, you read right… NOW. Hear me out. We are currently on the cusp of the craziness of spring sports, theater, competition season, or any other activity and the end-of-school-year madness descends upon us. Then we often get lost in the summer camp craze or the unstructured, slower pace. And all of a sudden it is fall and, oh crap you remember that you wanted to get family pictures. So that leaves you maybe 1 – 2 months to get on the books between being back at school, fall sports, theater, or any other activity.
Bottom line. We are busy. My family, your family. I would venture to say that we are busier than ever. So instead of waiting until August or September to reach out and squeeze in your annual session by October or November how about booking it now?
Even though I am a master procrastinator, I am actually in the middle of booking my session, and here are my main reasons…
On top of running my own business, the household, a gut renovation, and being my kids’ glorified Uber driver for travel soccer, I have my neverending to-do list. I am sure you have one too. Or you are just surviving, which let’s be real, I am too. Either way, while I am figuring out broadly what the rest of the year looks like, I promised myself that this year I would book our family photo session early to strike through that one to-do off of my list. One less thing to worry about because it is scheduled and ready to go months in advance. YAY!
Although I LOVE the fall season and the magical bold oranges and red colors that family fall pictures hold, I think summer family pictures on the beach are calling my name this year. Long flowy dresses, running and playing on the sand with my sun-kissed kiddos, plus the light in the dunes, will be a nice change from last year’s Central Park fall pictures. And dare I say, NO TRAVEL SOCCER, opening up plenty of available dates on weekdays and weekends.
Each season is unique and shines bright in its own right. The light and colors plus clothing options are drastically different. Spring the world explodes with blooms and colors with new life. Summer is all about fun in the sun, the breeze, and later evenings. And fall everything takes on a hue of orange, red, and yellow. Mixing it up allows you to make memories all year round with new and beautiful backdrops.
Now that my session will be booked months in advance, I am truly looking forward to the session rather than feeling pressure from the moment I book. I can take the time to prepare to find the perfect location and clothing options with my photographer. I can start taking mental notes on the clothing options. And once we get closer, yes with some running around, I know I will be ready compared to my last-minute booking last year.
Now I don’t think you need any more convincing, but if you do OR you have questions about booking a session, let’s chat. You can send me a message and we can work together to cross off one big thing on your to-do list.
